Karl AKA Stroget is an active curator at HobbyDB of many of the 1/43 model car brands. He has been adding model cars to the DB since 2014; some of his favorites are Alfa Romeo and obsolete Tekno from Denmark!
I read with great interest Karl’s article on reproduction catalogues done by the now defunct Model Collector magazine, along with Wilf’s reply. I keep all my reproduction catalogues in one binder, so pulled it out to have a look. It turns out there was one Corgi catalogue and one Spot-On catalogue also done by Model Collector.
This is a 1957 two-fold full colour repro leaflet from Model Collector. 5 ½ by 4 ¼” when folded.
Spot-On 1959 eight page (stapled) repro catalogue by Model Collector. Red and black coloration only. Close to 8 ½ x 5 ½ inches.
Repro on the right is printed and trimmed slightly smaller than the original.
Repro 1955 catalogue (top) seems to be both printed and trimmed slightly larger than the original.
I have compared all the others that Karl illustrated (except the 1939 one, as I don’t have an original) and the repros are pretty much exactly as the originals.
