We’re thrilled to welcome our friends and partners at The Toy Peddler (or TTP, for short) to the full hobbyDB experience.
A proud member of the hobbyDB family of brands, TTP has been a reliable marketplace for diecast and model cars for more than 24 years (and has been creating some exciting Custom models over the year – you can find them here).
The time has come to drop a new engine in The Toy Peddler by integrating with the hobbyDB database.
For our diecast lovers who are already Members, you can look forward to more variety in the hobbyDB Marketplace (please note that the counter showing the total number of Items for Sale has been paused to make the migration faster).
Our super small team appreciates your patience as we undergo a transfer of this magnitude (almost done!). When complete, you’ll be able to peruse around 75,000 new sales listings.
Like Pop Price Guide, the new site can be reached via the www.TheToyPeddler.com URL and will only show Model Cars as well as all items that are Hot Wheels branded (so for example Hot Wheels Books or T-Shirts). We already had the first expression of interest by TTP Members to join the Squad which means we can add to the 215,000 Model Cars now in the database.
Special thanks go to Anita who over the last few years has made sure TTP stays the best for diecast collectors; George for help with keeping the geriatric TTP technology from collapsing (we think that TTP is the last website that is still using Perl that was invented in 1977 and last updated in 1998!!!); and Usman who worked tirelessly to allow us to migrate Members and Items for Sale (definitely the hardest data migration we have ever done here at hobbyDB).
If you are a TTP Member, then you can visit the new TTP Help Section here. To find out more about our mission to document every model car ever made, click here!
Let us know if you have any questions in the meantime by sending an email to email@example.com and we’ll let you know as soon as the transfer is complete.
Great news – congratulations on the integration! Looks like a win-win s they say. Once the TTP folks use hobbyDB for a while, it will become very easy to navigate. The learning curve is not too bad.
