We’d like to officially welcome the members of The Toy Peddler, or TTP for short, to the hobbyDB experience.
What this means for the hobbyDB Community is that you’ll see close to 70,000 new items now available in the hobbyDB Marketplace! We’re also super stoked to announce that Anita Smith is joining the hobbyDB Advisory Board! Anita, aka Chickluu, has done an amazing job running The Toy Peddler. We couldn’t be more grateful to add her Redlines expertise among our panel of experts.
Speaking of model car lovers, the Hot Wheels Annual Collectors Convention will celebrate its 36th anniversary from Oct. 5-9 in Los Angeles. Don’t miss chats with Hot Wheels legend Larry Wood from 10:30-11:30 p.m. PST on Thursday in Imperial Room D and with hobbyDB and TTP from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in the JW Ballroom.
Can’t make it to this year’s show? Don’t miss out. Pre-order your Toy Peddler HW Convention exclusives today! Give them a look here!
A proud member of the hobbyDB family of brands, TTP has been a reliable marketplace for diecast and model cars for more than 24 years (and has been creating some exciting Custom models over the year – you can find them here).
With the new TTP comes –
For our diecast lovers who are already Members, you can look forward to more variety in the hobbyDB Marketplace (please note that the counter showing the total number of Items for Sale has been paused to make the migration faster).
Special thanks go to Anita who over the last few years has made sure TTP stays the best for diecast collectors; George for help with keeping the geriatric TTP technology from collapsing (we think that TTP is the last website that is still using Perl that was invented in 1977 and last updated in 1998!!!); and Usman who worked tirelessly to allow us to migrate Members and Items for Sale (definitely the hardest data migration we have ever done here at hobbyDB).
If you are a TTP Member, then you can visit the new TTP Help Section here. To find out more about our mission to document every model car ever made, click here!
Let us know if you have any questions in the meantime by sending an email to support@hobbydb.com and we’ll let you know as soon as the transfer is complete.
Great news – congratulations on the integration! Looks like a win-win s they say. Once the TTP folks use hobbyDB for a while, it will become very easy to navigate. The learning curve is not too bad.
