Musings By Joschik Christian obsesses over collectibles, antiques and toys more than the average person, but (he believes) in a productive way. Documenting collectibles has been a passion since working on a book about his favorite childhood toys from Timpo 41 years ago. As part of his collecting Christian also has sold collectibles using over the years the postal services in Germany, Russia the UK and the US.
When I moved to the US Richard Gottlieb was one of my first calls. He is the CEO of Global Toy Group, founder of Global Toy Experts and publisher of Global Toy News, making him an authority and go-to source in the toy world (and while hobbyDB plans to document every collectible ever made we had started with toys). Richard also collects (Wizard of Oz is his theme). We talked, we met, I wrote for Global Toy News, I was on Richard and Chris’ Podcast and he writes here.
Richard then also introduced me to his partner Steve Velte and he and I had excellent conversations in regard to some of their assignments. Both are just 120% professionals and a pleasure to work with!
So naturally, all that lead to that I just joined Global Toy Experts as an Industry Partner helping out with clients that are already in the collectible markets or interested in becoming so. And I am sure that some of those will then join hobbyDB as Official Archives – so a win-win! Plus I can now put “Global Toy Expert” on my business card, how cool is that!
Here is the official announcement.
Congratulations, Christian!
