Yes, we had LEGO, but it was nothing like the sets you can get today! So I played with model cars and toy soldiers (here are some of those). My son Nikolai has mountains of LEGO and he does very cool stuff with it! But I might be biased, so see for yourself…
Last year he scratch built a Leopard II for me (probably because that was the tank I was both Gunner and Loader on when I did my military service) –
This year he followed up with a Gepard, also scratch built –
Nice details throughout –
And his first US tank, the LAV-25 is a member of the LAV II family. It is an eight-wheeled amphibious armored reconnaissance vehicle built by General Dynamics Land Systems and used by the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army –
Again, lots of small features like with these Military Assault Packs –
And now he plans some dioramas, here is his first one, a Humvee in its natural habitat –
I enjoy that he was trying to do an Engine –
And that engine still gives LEGO away as mainly a toy (yes, Jim, this is not a Humvee engine…), but one of the very best ones! Next, he plans a tank repair hall which should be good.
Please share some of your builds (scratch or factory) in the comments!
Rebuild a proper truck for the vintage tanker in 1993 from spare parts.
These are great! Lego should not make them – I would be a buyer!
I will have to get out my Lego now and try this!
Those are great for scratch built – look like real Lego kits! Must have taken days and days to do each one!
I would have guessed these were actual kits. The attention to detail and the proportions are incredible.
What can I say? I am speechless.Bravo!!!!!
I love these! Fantastic builds all around with great detailing. Nikolai is super talented and I’m excited to see what he comes up with next! 😁
Great builds from scratch, thanks for sharing!! Here is photo of one of my few city sets – this is the Street Sweeper. I really like the blue bristle brush when I bought it and I’ve kept it ever since – 1995!
Lego stays alive for generations.
Wow, this is some incredible work!
Wow, these are awesome, hope that you guys are adding more Lego products or other brands like COBI soon
Awesome work by your son, Christian! Great stuff on the HUMVEE 🙂
Maybe we will reach out to you for a license and make more of them… (for others Jim has the coolest job out there – helping model car brands make HUMVEEs and others).
