Who doesn’t love a great crossover?
Let us join the collectibles universe with a big “wow!!” when it comes to the news of Hasbro and Mattel joining forces for the greater good…to fight Decepticons.
OK, it’s a little more involved than that.
The two toy company giants have entered into a multi-year licensing agreement to produce co-branded toys and games. Read the official press release here.
Beginning this fall, Hasbro and Mattel are teaming up to celebrate a pair of summer blockbusters in “Barbie” and “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.”
First up, Hasbro will roll out Barbie branded Monopoly games. Later in the year, Mattel will introduce its Transformers branded UNO games.
But the most exciting announcement arguably is the debut of Transformers branded Hot Wheels vehicles! Look for them in early 2024.
What do you think of the collaboration? What else would you like to see Hasbro and Mattel co-brand? Tell us in the comments below!
If this helps them be successful, this is a great idea! Lego may be so far ahead of these other two that they don’t need more co-branding…
Any move that actually helps getting Hot Wheels and Matchbox into the shops around me on a slightly less irregular basis is most welcome.
