Kingdom Hearts’ Sora Arriving This February to amiibo’s Super Smash Bros. Universe

Javier SerranohobbyDB super user Javier Serrano, aka Fjaviserr gets us excited for the highly anticipated debut of Sora in amiibo form. Read more of his wonderful guest posts here!

Since his debut in 2002, Sora the main protagonist of Kingdom Hearts video game series, has become in one of the most recognizable characters in video-gaming history, and his popularity has allowed him to appear in other video game franchises such as Final Fantasy (World of Final Fantasy 2017), Disney Emoji Blitz (2019) and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2021) for Nintendo Switch.

So, when Nintendo announced that Sora would be part of the Super Smash Bros. Universe, the happiness took over the fans of the Big Red N, becoming one of the favorite playable characters in the Super Smash Bros. franchise since then.

The question was, when would Nintendo release his amiibo? He was announced in the third quarter of 2023, and we did not know the official date until November 2023, but the wait is almost over! On Feb. 16, he will finally be landing on store shelves, although we can pre-order his amiibo figure on several websites right now.

Depending on the region, there will be three different packaging variants: the Japanese, the North American and the International versions. Later shows us that he will have the number #93 of the amiibo line created to Masahiro Sakurai’s saga.

On the other hand, it seems that the back of the cardboard will have the new minimalist design of compatible software/games, and particularly I would have preferred that it had the previous Nintendo Switch artwork, which includes colorful images of the video game in the back of the cardboard.

Nintendo took care of every single detail for this incredible NFC figure perfectly bringing to life Sora’s face and body shape from the design in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, keeping the essence of Tetsuya Nomura’s original concept. The iconic Keyblade is also sculpted with a high-quality of details, elevating this amiibo figure to a must-have.

It would be amazing to see other costume variations of Sora’s Super Smash Bros. in the future, such as Wisdom or Timeless River forms. Of course, Nintendo do not use to do that, but times change and it would be a dream come true seeing those NFC versions of Sora too. Why not?

In the end, this year amiibo is going to celebrate its tenth anniversary and I am sure there will be lots of surprises.

Whatever happens, the countdown to have the awaited Sora amiibo figure is coming to an end, and he will always be ready to fight and defeat the spirits in battle to earn more SP than usual in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate series.

So, good luck in your hunt, and I hope you can add the Keyblade wielder from the Destiny Islands in your collection.

I hope you find this information helpful. Have an excellent week. Let me know if you’d like to know more in the comments below. See all Amiibo on hobbyDB here!
