I have been collecting designer toys since 2004 and this is my weekly column. I also have other interests (I am for example the Curator of the Breyer Horses and Warne’s Observer’s Pocket Books and generally am known to add anything cute to my collection).
This week’s Art Toy of the Week is the Hug Life Hellboy Qee from Toy2R with Tara McPherson and Dark Horse Comics. There had been two other more “regular” editions of this fabulous 8″ tall figure, but this was a special edition personal favourite! Tara was hand picked by Mike Mignola (creator of Hellboy) to create this custom design way back in 2008, only 450 were made.
They are very scarce these days, and mine is going nowhere! If you do want one you’ll have to put some leg work in to find one for sale.
