I have been collecting designer toys since 2004 and this is my weekly column. I also have other interests (I am for example the Curator of the Breyer Horses and Warne’s Observer’s Pocket Books and generally am known to add anything cute to my collection).
This week’s Art Toy of the Week is Gamerita by Joe Ledbetter as part of Wonderwall Toys‘ “Kaiju for Grownups” series. This series of toys released from 2006 brought some really fun figures from a number of artists. Each design was released in a number of limited edition colourways. Gamerita, a play on the turtle kaiju, Gamora, was released in 2007 and stands 6″ tall. He was released in nine colourways.

You can find these for sale on various auction sites, some colourways are more scarce than others.
