The Craniacs are out to scare you…in a friendly kind of way.
hobbyDB is thrilled and chilled to announce the “happy horror” styled trading cards of Craniacs as its latest Official Archive and Premium Package. Craniacs is the brainchild of Ira Friedman and renowned card artist Joe Simko.
And we have your opportunity to add their exclusives to your collection!
Two divergent civilizations – one set in ancient times, the other from the distant future – collide in an action-adventure, oft-time humorous, struggle to co-exist.
With more than a dozen original Simko characters, the denizens of Craniacs each feature a unique, colorful skull-faced design to capture their individual personality. The franchise has seen exploding interest so much that Friedman and Simko are now working with Titmouse Studios to create an animated version of the Craniacs!
Here’s where it all began. Craniacs made its debut in October of 2023 with a limited-release collection entitled Series 0.
That set had 50 collectibles designs and included Rainbow Chrome Foil Cards and sequentially-numbered Crackle Chrome Parallel foil cards, in addition to Sketch Cards and a Original Art Contest (one winner).
Series 1 made its debut in the fall of 2024 and features 100 collectible designs from the mind of Simko and company. Included in that set is a 3-card promotional collection entitled Chrome Dome Triptych Series.

Each set features three cards, which when combined form one complete image. To compile the entire set, collectors were originally asked to find all three cards, including in issues of Non-Sport Update Magazine.
