It all started with an idea of CCBigs in late 2020 and was initially a relatively small affair, a day where Squad Members started to work on data projects together and try to get as many new items added to hobbyDB as possible. Participants who added a minimum amount of data got one of our Badges for their Showcase:

We forgot about it for while but brought it back in 2023 (now with a small and fun competitive element):
Then we thought it would be fun to start a theme:
The SDCC Bootcamp was a way to get engaged without flying out to California:

Demiroff got involved and soon took over the now monthly event. She then decided to up the game on Badges:
We decided to reward Denise’s outstanding work with a special Badge for the Toy Story World Record Week-end (Zorg is just the best):

Earlier this year we started to add “special challenges” that allowed to add one of these badges:
You can earn all but have to do so in order – so currently the maximum anybody could have is these 4. And Pokemon Gotta Earn Them All No. 5 is around the corner!
