Ebbro is a Japanese brand of metal model cars (diecast) that was created in the 1990s. The brand was founded in 1998 in Tokyo, Japan, by a group of car and model-making enthusiasts. The company began producing scale models of Japanese cars, such as Nissan Skylines and Toyota Supras.
In the early 2000s, Ebbro began to gain popularity among model car collectors. The brand expanded its product range to include European and American car models, such as Ferraris, Porsches and Ford Mustangs. It is renowned for the exceptional quality of its scale models. Models are made from high-quality materials and feature impressive attention to detail. Models often include features such as caster wheels, open doors and detailed interiors.
Ebbro has collaborated with several automakers to produce scale models of their cars. For example, Ebbro has produced scale models of the Nissan GT-R and Toyota 86 in collaboration with the actual cars’ manufacturers. There are also Ebbro model cars kits in a variety of scales, including 1/12, 1/20 and 1/24.
Ebbro has a dedicated and passionate community of collectors with collectors sharing their knowledge and experiences on online forums and social networks and Ebbro model cars are appreciated by collectors worldwide (I hope some of the is moving to hobbyDB’s new forum).
Personally, I collect the Ebbro 1/43 rnge, mainly Japanese models, and in particularly love the 70s models. I recently read that the Ebbro brand has filed for bankruptcy, which is very regrettable. If you visit my Showcase, you’ll find a section for all my Ebbro models and I’m sure you’ll will enjoy them as much as I do!
On the pics are some of my favorite models.
Check out the hobbyDB pages on Ebbro and if we miss items add them (if you are not a member of the Squad and don’t want to join quite yet add them into the Comments and I will add them).
What great cars! Never seen in the US! Thanks for showing us!
Love them all! Patrick
Ebbro filed for bankruptcy about a year ago. Are they back from the brink? https://www.modelcarhall.com/blog/ebbro-models-bankruptcy-brings-up-important-questions-for-diecast-market/
Unfortunately not, that’s so sad.
