Catxx has always liked animals and had been collecting horses since a very early age. For that reason she also became hobbyDB’s Curator of Breyer Horses. She is also the Curator for Warne’s Observer’s Pocket Books and collects designer toys for which she runs a weekly column.
Welcome to the seventh edition of our pricey ponies blog! Many bank accounts were still in recovery phase from the Summer and events such as Breyerfest these past two months, but there were still some astonishing finds and high sold figures to be found.
Released in two colourways, a standard colour and a chase decorator purple colour, Speos arrived for Breyerfest in 2023, finding the chase colour is tricky with only 240 pieces released. So when he popped up on eBay he went for $1,080!
Another chase colourway, this Breyer named Uffington was released in 2021 and this chase holographic colourway only had 200 pieces released. He is a grail figure so achieved $1,220!
This gorgeous Breyer named Redbud was released in 2024 for the Spokes & Spurs event. A mere 48 pieces were released, so when one came up on eBay he went for $1,100!
A new Breyer released this year, Phish (also known as Tight Lines) was the Breyerfest Celebration Horse released in a matte colourway, but there was an extra special limited edition glossy colourway which was a super limited edition of just 48 pieces as a Breyerfest Prize model. Unlikely to be available very often, it was no surprise one sold for $2,000 when he came up on eBay!
A limited edition Breyer set, Biscuits & Gravy was released exclusively for the Spokes and Spurs event in 2024. Only 40 sets were produced. When this pair came up on eBay they went for $2,250!
This gorgeous glossy Breyer, Apollo, was released in 2013 as part of their small “Greek Gods” series. Just 225 were released and he’s very hard to find. When he came up on eBay he went for $1,175!
A rare colourway from Beswick, this porcelain “Pinto Pony” in a palomino gloss is a desirable grail for many Beswick collectors. He went for an amazing $2,014 on eBay!
The Circus Ponies are an exceptionally impressive vintage porcelain piece from Royal Worcester and crafted by the legendary Doris Lindner. A rarity to find for sale, they went for $1,758 on eBay!
Another highly desirable vintage Royal Worcester porcelain piece named Galloping Ponies, also crafted by Doris Lindner. When this pair came up on eBay they went for $1,378!
Not a brand we’ve shared before, this Royal Crown Derby Appleby Stallion porcelain paperweight is one of the vast collection of paperweight animals you can find. A rarer piece, he went for $1,194 on eBay!
A gorgeous vintage porcelain Pegasus by Cybis, released in 1970. A rare figure, especially in such good condition! When he came up on eBay he went for $1,100!
