ICYMI: Mickey Mantle Rookie Card Receives Presidential Treatment

The stars were on display last week in Denver for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, but the biggest hall-of-fame treatment didn’t belong to Shohei Ohtani, Fernando Tatis Jr. nor Mike Trout.

That honor was bestowed upon Mickey Mantle, rather the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle rookie card, that is. The card received a presidential motorcade-type procession to Denver’s Rally Hotel where it was placed on display during the All-Star Game.

We’re familiar with the “holy grail” of Mickey Mantle cards, the most-valuable of the three GEM MNT 10 versions known to exist in the world.

The card belongs to good hobbyDB friend Marshall Fogel. Fogel invited us to bask at his glorious baseball collection in 2019.

Take a trip back in time with us once again as we reflect on Marshall’s grand slam collection!
